It was a powerful day of collaboration, with local residents coming together to share ideas and concerns about how to build a fairer, greener, and more vibrant Dublin 8.
We would like to thank Griffith College Dublin for letting us use their space for the workshop and for being such an active part of the DASC committee. A special shout-out as well to Donore Credit Union for their continued support and involvement. Lastly, a massive thank you to everyone who made a donation through SpaceHive, the funds raised made this event possible and it is all thanks to the community.
Fifty local residents and interested parties attended on the day. The workshop was led by two facilitators, both local residents, from the UCD Innovation Academy.
The facilitators used a Design Thinking methodology, guiding participants through a highly interactive, human‑centered process. On the day, they began by framing the challenge around the UN Sustainable Development Goals and encouraging participants to empathise with local residents’ experiences. Attendees then generated a wide range of ideas individually on post-it notes, which were grouped and clustered collaboratively to identify patterns and priorities.
