Donore Credit Union has recently taken another step towards sustainability with its latest achievement in renewable energy. Their solar panels have surpassed expectations, generating an impressive amount of electricity—on a sunny Sunday in April, their solar panels generated nearly three times more than the organisation consumed. In a remarkable feat, 72% of all power generated was fed back to the grid, showcasing the effectiveness of their solar panels.
With a commitment to both sustainability and community welfare, Donore Credit Union has taken significant steps towards a greener future. Ireland's First Credit Union recently installed 46 solar panels on their roof, marking a milestone in their journey towards environmental responsibility. This endeavor not only aligns with their mission to become more sustainable but also serves as an example for the entire community.
On April 4th, Donore Credit Union had the honor of hosting An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar for the official switch-on ceremony of their solar panels, inverter, and batteries.
